Hello and Welcome
My name is Andrea Louie.
I was born in Seattle and proudly raised in Tacoma, WA. I'm a lawyer and a graduate of the University of Washington Foster School of Business and Seattle University School of Law.
I've worked in Big Law and in tiny startups. The intersections of law, business, and technology really pique my curiosity.
I'm Constantly Improving My Craft
I believe in lifelong learning, serial mastery as a way of life, and relentlessly swinging for the fences!
I have a legal blog where I write about transactional IP topics that interest me. Many of my friends and family members are entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs. I write with them in mind, and my goal is to provide them with helpful information to support them in creating and maintaining successful businesses.
I also have a vocabulary blog where I post daily. My new year's resolution for 2016—which I started on January 12th—was to choose and practice a new word in both English and Chinese every day. My goal for 2017 is to take and pass all six levels of the HSK exam (TOEFL's Chinese equivalent).
I'm a golfer (I was ranked last on my high school team!) turned distance runner. I've completed the marathon four times and my goal is to qualify for and race the 2018 Boston Marathon. I'm interested in all things fitness and am always trying to increase the number of pullups I can do. You can follow my running and fitness journey on Instagram.
Bonus Fun Fact: In 2015, my friend and I started a business called Kaish & Kingle to create and sell whimsical, joy-creating stationary. We have been selected for and participated in art shows in Seattle. We also wrote and illustrated a children's book encouraging girls to overcome setbacks and dream big. Our goal for 2017 is to self-publish this book.
