Fitness (2016-2017)

Fitness is a big part of my life, with running being my #1 hobby. I occasionally post my fitness updates on Instagram. I'm very interested in using group fitness as a way to build community. I'm also interested in using the running community to reach out to and empower people of color. 

While almost all of my current training is focused on becoming a better runner, I do regularly go to a gym to lift weights and participate in a few weekly outdoor workout groups. The marathon is my current favorite distance, but I am working to become better at shorter distances as well! I will be racing more 5ks and 10ks in 2017. 

I eventually want to explore different terrains (i.e. trail running) and different distances (e.g. ultramarathons). Someday I'd like to conquer #anysurfaceanydistance!

Running Goals:

  • Marathon: BQ (3:34:59) but ideally 3:30
  • Half-Marathon: Sub 1:45
  • 10K: Sub 48:00
  • 5k: Sub 23:00

Other Fitness Goals

  • 10 strict pullups (DONE!)
  • 5 minute plank
  • Human flag

  • Bouldering and Rock Climbing
  • Obstacle Training (Ninja Training)
  • Golf (Redemption for my high school self!)
